For the record, and somewhat against type, I'm actually kind of a fan of Babbitt, especially after reading Babbitt's collected essays, and also Fred Maus's thought-provoking article "Sexual and Musical Categories," in which at one point he briefly compares Babbitt to Michael Musto. I'll let you read the article to see how he arrives at that juxtaposition.
